Hoosier BBQ Sauce


1 1/2 cups Ketchup

2 cups light brown sugar

1/4- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar ( I vary how much I use depending on how acidic I feel like making my sauce and for the kind of meat I am using)

1 TSP smoked paprika

1 TBS garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground mustard

1 1/2 TSP ground ginger

1 TSP cayenne pepper

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce


Combine ingredients

In a medium size pot, bring to a boil and stir well

Drop to a simmer and stir occasionally until thick


If you are doing a pulled pork, shredded bbq chicken or any meats that will be slow cooked , you can skip the boil method, if you are doing ribs, or bbq chicken legs etc I suggest doing the boil method to break down the sugar and to make it nice and thick.


Can be served as a condiment on burgers as well .
